Some details about the process: Each bone is made by melting rods of glass in a 1700 degree flame. The molten glass is wound around clay coated steel rods called mandrels - this is what forms the hole. All the shaping and decorating of the bone is done while the glass is molten. The bones are placed in a kiln overnight to anneal. This makes the glass very strong and with proper care your personal, wearable work of art should last a lifetime - and more!
